ABOUT SCHOOL AND MWALIMU NYERERE

The Former Liberation Movements of Southern Africa, which include the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), African National Congress (ANC), Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO), Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), South West Africa People’s Organisation (SWAPO), and Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF), jointly established the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Leadership School (MJNLS). This institution is a modern party school with the latest educational resources and facilities. The School is named after Julius Nyerere, the first chairman of CCM and former President of Tanzania, in honour of his significant contributions to the national liberation movements of southern Africa. It is situated in the Kibaha District, Pwani Region of Tanzania. Construction of the School began in 2008 and was completed in February 2022. It occupies about 10 hectares of land with a total floor area of 24,600 m2. The School consists of the main building, dormitory, canteen and service building, and facility building, which can accommodate 200 attendees. The School’s motto, ‘Leadership for Inclusivity and Impact’, reflects our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment and our dedication to nurturing prospective leaders who will positively impact their communities.
